The Practitioner
Physiotherapy success is about the people involved. It’s the effectiveness between the practitioner and the client that really matters, not just the experience brought to the problem. Developing a broad understanding of the problem, and its associations with sport, lifestyle, work and other issues creates better results.
Working for a while now, I achieved the musculoskeletal physiotherapist title in 1993 and sports physiotherapist title in 2001.
Initially working in hospitals here and abroad, then transitioning to private practice; I have worked at a highly respected physiotherapy practices, including a multi-disciplinary inner Melbourne sports medicine group. Establishing a multi-disciplinary practice in Altona North for the group before working in Williamstown.
I have a long history with Australian Rules at many levels of competition: VFL (Williamstown Football Club), Amateurs (Ormond, University Blacks, Old Geelong, Williamstown CYS) and locally at Western Region Football League (Spotswood and Altona).
International and national sports physiotherapy work has also included Lacrosse and Baseball. But I do enjoy all sports and activities and believe that activity is critical to health; it doesn’t have to be organised sport.
